Congratulations and welcome to all of you who have chosen to participate in this program! You are now on your way to developing an understanding of some of the Web 2.0 tools readily available in today's society. Whether you choose to employ these tools, discover variations or alternatives, or simply gain an awareness of what is out there is entirely up to you.


Each week you will receive an email with an explanation of particular task/s allocated for that week. Rest assured you can work at your own pace, so there's no need to get discouraged by the rate at which other participants are moving. You will also have plenty of extra resources and sites to explore if you have the time or inclination.


On the side of this blog you will find some links to external webpages (watch this space as there will be resources added here throughout the program!); the Tracking Log, where you can monitor your progress during the program; and the Participants Blog List, where you can find a list of the blogs being created by other participants in the program. Here you can click on each one, to see what your colleagues have been up to. Keep tuned to this area, as it is a good place to be inspired and entertained!

Remember if you get stuck that you can move ahead to other tasks - don't get discouraged! You can always come back later when you're a bit more confident and/or enthusiastic.


Below you will see a list of numbered activities - these are your tasks throughout the program. You can click on the underlined links/text within each task to take you to the page with information and activities about that topic. Try to have fun with each activity, and remember that it's about exploration and investigation - not necessarily about "getting it right"!


Please be patient when activating each podcast. Some take up to 30 seconds to begin. There may also be some buffering interference.


With each exercise we are aware there may be access issues for many of you. We have tried to include alternative resources for you to explore where access has been identified as a possible problem. Though the number has been reduced recently, you will also be creating a lot of accounts during this program and it is highly recommended you keep a record of all your username/logins and passwords - it can get quite overwhelming! It is also good practice to keep logins and passwords as similar as possible throughout the program, simply because there is less time spent in elimination if you forget to write them down!
